WELCOME TO 2007
It's a windy and humid night in Melbourne and I'm wondering where 2006 went. It has certainly been a while since my last entry. Summer has arrived and stunningly brought with it non-ratings television. I've shamefully been revelling in a little too much of it and was saddened to see The Amazing Race's winning 'couples' formula abandoned for the ridiculous 'family' show. It didn't work. Part of the Amazing Race's appeal was the jetsetting to other countries, even if the token 'ambassador' at each Pitstop was a tad...garish. Well we could forget all that with the latest series. They never left America. And who doesn't love The Bachelor? Come on, get involved girls! Grrrr... Of course you don't need to wait for summer to enjoy these fabulous shows but you will need to prepare for 11.30pm starts and no set time-slots. I'm talking free-to-air of course!

AND THEN THERE WERE THREE
We're expecting our unexpected third child sometime in July, so life's gonna get even more exciting and challenging real quick! No time for racing, bacheloring or lame-ass quiz shows. Who cares who the brainiest housemate is? Now there are two words I never thought I'd see together!

LYNDON-IN-THE-LOUNGE
Are House Concerts becoming all the rage? Hardly, but they certainly do offer that which a pub or live music venue cannot. True intimacy, old world charm, an esky full of ice and easy parking! If you haven't been invited to one you might consider hosting one yourself. I'll have a bunch of information online soon. In the meantime why not visit houseconcertsaustralia.com and get aquainted with the idea?

Lyndon-In-The-Lounge presents the Turn Off Your TV tour, and an opportunity for you to have me in your home! Get in touch with me via phone or email and MAKE ME YOUR EXCUSE FOR A TOP NIGHT IN!

Howzat! columnist Jeff Jenkins interviewed me recently and asked how it all worked? "Imagine a 'wine and cheese' night with a twist of Wesley. It is totally acoustic and works best indoors and with smaller gatherings - say 15 to 40 people."

Intrigued? Call me on 0411 152 192 and I'll fill in any blank spaces for you.

AUGUST AND EVERYTHING AFTER
Thanks to everyone who made it to the Launch Party. Great venue, great vibe, terrific support from a rockin' Mark Hughes and The Whole Wide World, and a blast overall. Many people took part in the $5 EP deal and even more bought the album after the show! Very cool. So thankyou for making the night a success and if you have bought the album I'd love to hear from you. Email me anytime or better still email your friends if you're enjoying what you hear. What you may feel amounts only to a tiny effort will in fact be a big thing for me. Word of mouth is still king! While I'm on the subject of spruiking, there are a number of websites where you can submit a review of my EP. This too is a fantastic way of letting others know what you think and why you like the music you do. Please consider leaving your comments and reviews at these sites:

MMusic
CDBaby
Myspace

Myself and the inimitable Malvern Stars are organising a show at the Espy in St.Kilda...stay tuned.

DIGITAL DIMENSIONS
Visit www.martianmusic.com to purchase high quality digital downloads of my EP straight to your MP3 player of choice! Better quality and cheaper than iTunes :) For those of you who are comfortable with the iTunes model, stay tuned. While The World Lay Sleeping will be part of that phenomenon in the very near future. Wanna know what I used to sound like? visit iTunes and type in Lyndon Wesley :)

FEATURED ARTIST
August is a month that I've never much cared for. It kind of hangs around cold and dank while we all wait for Spring to kick in. But this month could be different. The Music Australia Guide Magazine (MAG) has a review of my EP WTWLS in their August issue which you can pick up FREE at any JB Hi Fi store across Australia. It's a great little mag with contributions from Ed Nimmervoll, Jeff Jenkins and Billy Pinnell. JB Hi Fi also stock WTWLS so if they haven't got it ask them to order it in for you.

I am a featured artist this month on Australian music retail site MMusic. Go have a squizz. www.mmusic.com.au

DON WALKER SUPPORTS
I had the pleasure of supporting Don Walker (Cold Chisel, Tex, Don & Charlie)on a couple of his latest shows in Melbourne and Torquay. They were great gigs and had a real country drole and twang to them. Surprisingly he didn't play piano once. There was not one in sight, and without it the music had an emotional charge that could have easily accompanied any of the great Spaghetti Westerns (which I love) apart from perhaps the odd mention here and there of the Gold Coast and other Aussie
towns.

EMPRESS HOTEL
You don't want to miss this gig! Lyndon's new band, The Malvern Stars will take the stage for a performance which we're told will be unlike anything you've seen from Lyndon in the past. A guitar driven performance of While The World Lay Sleeping has been suggested with spontaneity high on the agenda. "I'm always about the songs but what's changed for me is a newly found quest for tone and texture," comments Lyndon. "I want to capture something new each time I step on stage."
See gigs page for venue details. CD's will be on sale at this show.

JANUARY PRESS RELEASE
The best part of 2005 saw Lyndon produce arguably his finest work to date, 'While The World Lay Sleeping'. A lush and spacious recording that overwhelmingly succeeds in bringing to life the essence of each song.

Predominantly recorded at Mixmasters Studio (Ben Folds, Jeff Lang), mixed at the famed Metropolis studios by engineer Hadyn Buxton (Gus 'N' Frank, Epicure) and mastered by Martin Pullan (Little Birdie, The Black Sorrows, Spearhead), Lyndon's songs broach life from the inside out and package them up as only he can.

'While The World Lay Sleeping' shows what an extraordinary songwriter Lyndon is. Astoundingly beautiful songs with a voice to match.
